KPMG

I had the pleasure of working for KPMG Australia’s Government Cyber team as a paid intern in my Master of Computing degree.

In the four-month internship, worked on a wide range of projects, for both clients and for KPMG’s internal cyber security team. It was a great pleasure to deliver these projects and provide real value to clients and the organisation.

In one project, I conducted a cyber security posture assessment against the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Information Security Manual (ISM). In Australia, the ISM is used to assess and protect systems and data, with an aim of identifying and reducing cyber risk. In this project, I helped develop documentation and policies for the provider to help mitigate the risks identified during the assessment phase.

I was also tasked with operationalising cyber threat intelligence for KPMG’s internal cyber security team. As part of this project, I integrated a new source of cyber threats into KPMG’s Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool. To demonstrate my work, I was asked to develop a poster and pitch video, which you can find in my blog.
